Conference on Radioactive Waste Management 2021

Programme Overview

All sessions of the conference will be broadcasted live at specific times set in the programme and will also be available for virtual attendees after the sessions.

Opening and Closing Sessions

The opening and closing sessions take place on Monday, 1 November 2021 and on Friday, 5 November 2021, respectively.

Technical Sessions

The seven (7) technical sessions of the conference will take place throughout the week from Monday, 1 November 2021, after the opening session, until Thursday, 4 November 2021 in the afternoon.

Each technical session is introduced by a keynote speaker and followed by 6 oral presentations. In addition, a selected young professional will briefly showcase in each session his/her own work. The exact times of presentations will be shared in the programme overview closer to the conference.

Registered participants attending virtually can submit questions in the session chat of the virtual platform, which will be conveyed by a moderator during the panel discussion closing the technical session.

Young Professional Events

We strongly encourage the participation of young professionals in our conference.

The first young professional event is organized on Sunday, 31 October 2021 and gives an opportunity to explore diverse career paths in radioactive waste management and to connect with a broad range of professionals ahead of the week’s conference.

Being Part of the Solution: Career Paths for a Sustainable Future

Dynamic, bright, innovative young professionals are essential to the sustainability of the global nuclear industry, and to the success of this International Conference. While it’s expected that young professionals will fully participate throughout this week, the side event provides a tailored opportunity to explore diverse career paths in radioactive waste management, and to connect with a broad range of professionals ahead of the week’s events.

The young professional award ceremony, which is taking place during the closing session, will hand over a certificate to the winners of the conference (young professionals’ speakers and co-chairs).

The second young professional event organized on Friday, 5 November 2021 after the closing session, is an opportunity to shape the recommendations and messages in the final report of the conference and aims at reaching out to young professionals to seek their insights.
