  • Division of Radiation, Transport and Waste Safety

    Using radiation for beneficial purposes requires appropriate protection of workers, patients, the public and the environment. The Division develops and helps implement safety standards for radiation protection, radioactive waste and transport. Read more →

  • Division of Nuclear Installation Safety

    The Division establishes safety standards and helps apply these standards for nuclear installations during site evaluation, design, construction and operation. The Division provides a wide range of capacity-building services, peer reviews and advisory services to Member States. Read more →

  • Division of Nuclear Security

    To prevent, detect and respond to acts and threats of nuclear terrorism, the Division implements the IAEA’s Nuclear Security Plan, develops nuclear security requirements and guidance, and offers to Member States training, technical advice, peer reviews and other advisory services. Read more →

  • Incident and Emergency Centre

    The Incident and Emergency Centre is the global focal point for international emergency preparedness, communication and response to nuclear and radiological incidents and emergencies, regardless of whether they arise from accident, negligence or deliberate act. It is the world’s centre for the coordination of international emergency preparedness and response assistance.  Read more →
