International Conference on Nuclear Security: Shaping the Future - Exhibitions and Side Events
20-24 May 2024, Vienna, Austria
The IAEA is organizing the International Conference on Nuclear Security: Shaping the Future at the IAEA Headquarters in Vienna, Austria from 20 to 24 May 2024.
ICONS 2024 will bring together ministers, senior government officials, high level staff from agencies involved in making policy for, and managing, nuclear security, and technical and legal experts working in all areas of nuclear security. The conference is also intended to attract industry and civil society representatives, including non-governmental organizations and academic institutions.
The conference will contribute to raising awareness of emerging challenges, lessons learned and best practices in the field of nuclear security. The conference will provide opportunities to foster international cooperation and to promote the exchange of information and experiences in developing, sustaining and strengthening national nuclear security regimes whilst planning and preparing for future challenges and needs.
Approximately 2,000 participants from IAEA Member States and international organizations are expected to attend the Conference.
Exhibitions
It is planned to hold an exhibition from Monday, 20 to Thursday, 23 May 2024 in conjunction with the conference. In the exhibition IAEA Member States, international organizations, academic institutions, non-governmental organizations and vendors of technology will highlight the latest developments in their areas related to nuclear security. The exhibition will also provide a dedicated demonstration area for use by exhibitors.
Interested parties should contact the Scientific Secretariat by e-mail before 22 December 2023. Further information regarding the exhibition process will be provided to prospective exhibitors once all submissions of interest have been received.
Side Events
A number of rooms and other space will be available for side events in the margins of the conference that focus on topics related to the programme. Member States and invited/cooperating organizations interested in holding a side event are kindly advised to contact the Scientific Secretary by e-mail before 15 January 2024.
