The IAEA fulfils its roles and responsibilities for emergency preparedness by developing Safety Standards, guidance and tools related to emergency preparedness and response, and by assisting IAEA Member States in their implementation. It also offers review services to Member States and develops a comprehensive capacity-building programme.

    The IAEA regularly prepares and conducts exercises and training courses to evaluate and improve its own and its Member States’ response arrangements and capabilities with regard to nuclear and radiological emergencies. Read more →
