Cost–Benefit Analysis Model: Economic Decision Tool for Area-Wide Fruit Fly Management

Non-serial Publications

English IAEA/FAO-CBA

2 pages ¦ Date published: 2007

Description

The cost–benefit analysis model assists decision makers and programme managers in economic decision making associated with area-wide fruit fly control options including area-wide sterile insect technique (SIT). The economic returns of the different options analysed are presented in a pay-off matrix which compares basic economic indices including benefit to cost ratios, net benefits, internal rates of return and pay-back periods. The flow of costs, benefits and economic indices are presented in graphs that allow visualization of trends throughout a given time horizon.
