Coping With Cancer - Viet Nam's Story

Producer: Louise Potterton, Video Editor: Petr Pavlicek

Cancer has reached epidemic proportions worldwide, killing more than eight million people every year. Developing countries are worst hit by the cancer crisis. Around 70 percent of cancer deaths occur in these parts of the world, where resources that could save millions of lives and ease suffering are severely lacking or non-existent. The IAEA helps its Member States to develop infrastructure and train health care professionals to reduce the cancer burden. Viet Nam is one of over 100 countries that have received IAEA assistance in cancer control.
