The IAEA Radiation Safety Technical Services Laboratory in Vienna and Seibersdorf provides individual and workplace monitoring as well as calibration and loan services of survey instruments to the IAEA. These services combine international expertise, state of the art technologies and accredited methods (ISO/IEC 17025, Akkreditierung Austria, IAEA testing laboratory ID 0251) to help protect workers who might be exposed to radiation as an attribution of their occupation. The services are essential to IAEA activities globally and include training and consultation.
Individual monitoring
The individual monitoring laboratory in Vienna provides services to over 3000 occupationally exposed workers annually. The monitoring undertaken is to protect workers from potential internal and external radiation exposure that may occur during activities organized or supported by the IAEA worldwide.
Workplace monitoring
The workplace monitoring laboratory in Seibersdorf assesses radiation levels at the IAEA’s workplaces to support the planning and execution of work with radiation and to ensure a safe environment for workers. The services include calibration of more than 600 IAEA radiation measuring instruments annually and assistance in case of incidents and emergencies.
