Background
The IAEA's Nuclear Security Series (NSS) provides international consensus guidance on nuclear security to assist States as they work to fulfil their responsibilities in implementing, improving and sustaining their respective national nuclear security regimes.
This webinar will focus specifically on NSS No. 11-G (Rev. 1) Security of Radioactive Material in Use and Storage and of Associated Facilities, which was published in December 2019. The revision was developed in order to ensure better alignment with NSS No. 20 Objective and Essential Elements of a State’s Nuclear Security Regime and NSS No. 14 Nuclear Security Recommendations on Radioactive Material and Associated Facilities. This included expanding the scope of the publication to address all radioactive material, cross-referencing other relevant publications and providing additional detailed guidance based on experiences in implementing NSS No. 20.
Objectives
The webinar aims to provide an overview of NSS No. 11-G (Rev. 1) Security of Radioactive Material in Use and Storage and of Associated Facilities, and highlight the main updates made to the implementing guide as compared to the 2009 version.
