The Virtual Roundtable will discuss the history, experience and lessons from the past 15 years of operation at the IAEA’s Incident and Emergency Centre (IEC). Prominent international experts in emergency preparedness and response (EPR) will share their national and international EPR experience, identify EPR trends and issues, including emergency response operations and assistance, notification and information exchange, the IAEA’s EPR safety standards and guidance, EPR capacity building, education, and training, as well as communication with the public. The Virtual Roundtable will also dedicate time for a question and answer session.
The Webinar is open to staff from relevant authorities with responsibilities in preparing for and responding to a nuclear or radiological emergency such as response organizations at various levels (local, regional, national) including regulators, operators, technical support organizations and first responders, relevant staff from international organizations, and specialists from relevant research organizations and professional associations.
