Professor Gerbaudo serves as Senior Director of Nuclear Medicine, Molecular Imaging, Non-invasive Cardiovascular Imaging and Cardiac Stress in the Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) in Boston, Massachusetts. In addition, he chairs the BWH Biomedical Imaging Core's Administration and Finance Steering Committee to include Cyclotron, Radiopharmacy and associated Radiochemistry laboratories.

Dr. Gerbaudo is also the Senior Director of Research for the Department of Radiology at Brigham Health, and the Director of Clinical Integration of the multi-institutional Brigham Health Radiology Department. In this role he is responsible for clinical process improvement and the execution of strategic initiatives leading to clinical integration and care transformation of imaging services. Dr. Gerbaudo serves as a member of the Radiology Faculty at the Harvard Medical School, and is an internationally known clinical nuclear oncology scientist and lecturer. His clinical and research efforts focus on the in vivo qualitative and quantitative monitoring of tumor pathobiology, imaging, and response to cancer therapy. His research focuses on the assessment and characterization of tumor invasion and metastasis with positron imaging of thoracic malignancies (i.e., malignant pleural mesothelioma, lung cancer), as well as esophageal cancer, brain and gastrointestinal tumors. His teaching integrates the application of basic concepts of tumor pathophysiology and molecular pathology to oncologic imaging and to the interpretation and integration of imaging results into patient management decisions.

Professor Gerbaudo chairs the lung cancer track of the National Scientific Program of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI), and is the Chairman of Education and Research for the New England Chapter of the SNMMI. Previously, he served as Vice Chairman of the clinical oncology track of the National Scientific Program.
