The destruction of mustard and 155mm artillery shells used for mustard gas at the Al Muthana site will resume tomorrow. The destruction process was temporarily halted due to technical problems. When the work was halted, about one-third of 50 liters of mustard had been destroyed. If everything goes well, the destruction work will be completed in four to five days.

One UNMOVIC missile team observed a static test of the Al Samoud 2 missile conducted at Al Rafah. A second team inspected Al Quadissiya that produces heat-resistant components for several missile systems. A third missile team inspected Al Melad, which is involved in the guidance and control system for the Al Fatah missile.

An UNMOVIC chemical team inspected the Al Murage Company for Perfume Production in Baghdad.

An UNMOVIC missile team inspected the Musaayib Power Station to check for possible storage of missile-related items.

An UNMOVIC biological team carried out an aerial inspection of two sites to the west and northwest of Baghdad.

The IAEA interviewed two members of Iraq’s former gas centrifuge programme. One was an engineer and the other a magnet specialist.
