The purpose of this course is to instruct participants on the safety requirements of SSR-2/1. This includes the Fundamental Safety Objective that the requirements are based on. The content of the course covers the role of design safety for nuclear power plants, the important safety concepts in the design of structures, systems and components for nuclear power plants and the scope of the requirements in SSR-2/1 (Rev. 1) in terms of both general and specific design aspects of structures, systems and components for nuclear power plants.
