Technical Cooperation Side Events at the 61st IAEA General Conference

,

The Department of Technical Cooperation will present an exhibition on the first floor of the M Building, alongside the other Departments of the IAEA.

This year, the IAEA holds its 61st regular session of the General Conference from 18 to 22 September. To commemorate the IAEA's 60th anniversary, a number of events and activities are planned during the General Conference.

In addition to its exhibition, meetings and signing events, the Department of Technical Cooperation will be hosting two side events during the week.

The first side event will take place on Wednesday 20 September at 10.00 in room M7 of the M Building, jointly organized with the Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications’ FAO/IAEA Joint Division. Climate-Proofing Rice Production Systems will showcase sustainable successes by Asian Member States in using nuclear techniques to mitigate the impacts of climate change. Presenters will include speakers from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Viet Nam. The event will be closed by a questions and answers session. Refreshments will be served for participants.

The second side event, which will take place on Friday 22 September at 11.00 in room M6 of the M building, will present the new InTouch+ platform. InTouch+ is the successor to the Department of Technical Cooperation’s InTouch platform, a web platform that supports online applications for all IAEA events, including training courses, fellowships, scientific visits and meetings. This will be followed by a questions and answers session.

Finally, the Department of Technical Cooperation will present an exhibition on the first floor of the M Building, alongside the other Departments of the IAEA. Staff members will be available at the exhibition to answer any questions and to provide information on the work of the IAEA.
