Smiljana Prelević, Secretary General of the Ministry of Science of Montenegro and Kwaku Aning, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, have signed Montenegro's new Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the period of 2014-2020 on 29 October 2014. A Country Programme Framework (CPF) is the frame of reference for the medium-term planning of technical cooperation between a Member State and the IAEA and identifies priority areas where the transfer of nuclear technology and technical cooperation resources will be directed to support national development goals.
Montenegro has been an IAEA Member State since 2006. Its 2014-2020 CPF identifies five priority areas:
1. Nuclear Sciences and Applications
2. Sustainable Development and the Environment
3. Health
4. Radiation Protection, Nuclear Safety and Security
5. Human Resource Development
