The IAEA Board of Governors opened its second meeting of the year at the Agency's headquarters on 2 June 2014.

At this meeting from 2 to 6 June 2014, the Board will discuss: the Technical Cooperation Report for 2013; the Report of the Programme and Budget; the conclusion of safeguards agreements and additional protocols; application of safeguards in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea; implementation of the NPT safeguards agreement and relevant provisions of United Nations Security Council resolutions in the Islamic Republic of Iran; implementation of the NPT safeguards agreement in the Syrian Arab Republic; the Safeguards Implementation Report for 2013; and the Annual Report for 2013.
The designation of members to serve on the Board in 2014-2015 will also be under consideration, as well as applications for membership to the Agency. The Board will also be discussing the Provisional Agenda for the fifty-eighth session of the IAEA General Conference scheduled for September 2014.
