Changing diet and lifestyle mean that today around 18% of children and adolescents in Latin America are overweight or obese. The IAEA is working with Latin American Member States to better understand childhood obesity through a project under the Regional Cooperative Agreement for the Advancement of Nuclear Science and Technology in Latin America and the Caribbean (ARCAL).
