The IAEA and Water – Isotope Hydrology – Bolivia

Producer: Louise Potterton, Camera and Editing: Petr Pavlicek

The El Alto aquifers in Bolivia provide water to around one million people.  In order to find out how much water is available, its quality and where it is coming from, isotope hydrology is being used. After being trained by the IAEA, Bolivian hydrologists are taking samples from the aquifers and analysing them in a laboratory that has been established with IAEA support.
