IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano delivered a statement to the Agency's Board of Governors on 6 June 2016.
He reported to the Member States on the Agency's response to an outbreak of Zika in countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, which includes the provision of portable equipment for rapid detection of the virus.
The Board, which meets five times a year at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna, Austria, is one of the IAEA's main policymaking bodies.
