Cattle Breeding Meets Nuclear Science

Livestock is of major importance all over Africa as in many other parts of the world. Artificial insemination has proved to be a good way to get better quality and healthier cattle. The IAEA, through its technical cooperation programme and partnership with the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization, has supported nearly 90 countries, including Tanzania, in the use of a nuclear technique which can detect if the insemination has worked at an early stage.
