An UNMOVIC chemical team went to the Al Basil Centre-Jadriyah in Baghdad. The Centre is primarily a research centre for petroleum products. The team then proceeded to Fallujah II, approximately 100 km northwest of Baghdad. This site is primarily a phenol and chlorine production facility. A metal analyzing instrument was used on this inspection. Another chemical team returned to the Al Qa Qaa complex to inspect storage facilities. Mobile sampling equipment was utilized during the inspection.
An UNMOVIC biological team inspected Babil (Babylon) University Colleges of Medicine and Science. The University is located about 120 km south of Baghdad. Another biological team revisited the Amiryah Serum and Vaccine Institute in Baghdad. The team inspected three warehouses, refrigerated trucks and several containers. This was the third visit to this declared site.
An UNMOVIC missile team, supported by geophysical inspectors, went to Al Mutaseem, approximately 90 km west of Baghdad. Electromagnetic detectors were utilized during the inspection.
An UNMOVIC multidisciplinary team inspected the Al Rasheed Factory affiliated with the Heteen State Company, about 70 km from Baghdad. This factory manufactures fuses for artillery munitions.
A multidisciplinary team based in Mosul inspected the Al-Mishraq Sulphur State Company. The site is declared by Iraq. It conducts sulphur mining and comprises a sulfuric acid and an aluminium sulfate plant as well as the required utilities.
The IAEA inspected four colleges at the University of Baghdad: the College of Engineering, the Second College of Engineering, the College of Education for Women, and the College of Science for Women.

An UNMOVIC biological team revisited the Communicable Diseases Control Centre in Baghdad to carry out discussion related to the site activity. The Centre is responsible for the infectious diseases epidemic control in the country. Another biological team revisited Kham Vani Saad located 50 km northeast of Baghdad to inspect two large hangers. It is a declared site with tagged equipment.
The third biological team revisited Baghdad Alcoholic Drinks Company, a brewery, in the Zafarania industrial area of Baghdad. The quality control laboratory of the company and the tagged equipment were inspected. The fourth biological team revisited an agricultural site in the southern outskirts of Baghdad. The team completed the inspection of the remaining buildings that were sealed during their first inspection on 15 January.
An UNMOVIC chemical team returned to the Al Qa Qaa complex to inspect production units.
An UNMOVIC multidisciplinary team inspected the Rashdiya Munitions Filling Plant.
An UNMOVIC missile team traveled 90 km south of Baghdad to inspect the Al Qa Qaa Static Test Stands used to test small rocket motors. These test stands are located within the Al Qa Qaa complex. Another missile team went to the Al Harith Workshop to re-tag SA-2 missiles, whose tags had been removed the week before for maintenance, and to remove tags from other SA-2 missiles that will go through a maintenance cycle next.
The IAEA, supported by UNMOVIC geophysical and chemical inspectors, conducted a simultaneous inspection of two previously uninspected sites in the north of Baghdad.
