Annual IAEA General Conference to Convene on 16 - 20 September

Energy Ministers and high-level delegations from the IAEA's 134 countries will come together on 16 - 20 September for the 46th Regular Session of the IAEA General Conference at the Austria Centre in Vienna. A wide range of issues will be addressed in the areas of nuclear security, safeguards, safety and nuclear science and technology. Media planning to cover the General Conference are requested to fill in the accreditation form, which is available on-line at /worldatom/About/Policy/GC/gcAccredit.shtml.

Press accreditation badges will be issued at the press registration desk at the entrance of the Austria Centre from 15.00 to 18.00 p.m. on Sunday 15 September and from 8.00 a.m. Monday 16 September 2002. Please note that VIC Press Accreditation badges are not valid for entry into the Austria Centre.

The Provisional Agenda for the 46th IAEA General Conference at: /worldatom/About/Policy/GC/GC46/Documents/gc46-1.html. All plenary meetings will be open to the press and a number of seats are reserved for media in the main Conference Room on floor 02.

This year's parallel Scientific Forum will focus on three issues: "Nuclear Power - Life Cycle Management; Managing Nuclear Knowledge, and Nuclear Security." The Forum will be held on 17-18 September in Room C at the Austria Centre. The Scientific Forum Agenda is on-line at: gc02sfpr.pdf.
