Case based Workshop: Reirradiation

In light of increasing survival rates and current availability of treatment options, reirradiation has emerged as a critical therapeutic approach in cancer treatment. This workshop aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of reirradiation, with a focus on the evolving techniques, safety considerations, and the balance between efficacy and potential toxicity. The workshop will cover theoretical basis, interactive discussion on evaluation of clinical cases bringing together experts from various domains including breast, prostate, paediatric tumours, and explore of low-dose rate reirradiation strategies. The workshop will consist of interactive discussions of multiple clinical cases with experts on reirradiation.

 

Contouring Workshop: Paediatric Craniospinal Radiotherapy

Craniospinal Irradiation (CSI) remains one of the most challenging radiotherapy techniques. This workshop will Introduce the indications for and rationale behind CSI, emphasize the importance of positioning and immobilization particularly in paediatric patients, discuss the best practices for contouring, radiotherapy planning, and plan evaluation.  The participants can practice on contouring the CSI volumes prior to the workshop, receive feedback, participate in interactive case discussions and ask questions during the workshop. Participants are required to bring their own computer to the workshop.

Contouring Workshop: Hypofractionated Radiotherapy for Prostate Cancer

This workshop addresses the evolving evidence, important tips for contouring, and the integration of image-guided technologies in hypofractionated treatment for prostate cancer. Participants will engage in contouring exercises of clinical cases, receive expert feedback, engage in case discussion, and deepen their understanding of prostate anatomy relevant to hypofractionated radiotherapy for prostate cancer. Participants are expected to bring their own computer for the workshop.

Contouring Workshop: Image-Guided Brachytherapy for Cervical Cancer

This workshop focuses on enhancing contouring skills and improving knowledge in management of cervical cancer with 3D image-giuided brachytherapy (3D IGBT). The participants will engage in lecture on background and target volume concept for 3D IGBT, contouring exercise, interactive case discussions, contouring exercise evaluation. A key feature of the workshop is the open exchange between participants and experts aimed at enhancing understanding of evidence-based practices in the management of cervical cancer. Participants are required to bring their own computers to the workshop.

One of the greatest unsolved challenges in medicine and radiation oncology is the lack of research that is produced and published from low- and middle-income countries. This workshop will aim to provide information and interactive discussion on how to successfully write and publish research papers with high impacts. The workshop will cover professional tips and pitfalls on how to write a research paper (and get it accepted) and how to communicate with reviewers and editors. The sessions will consist of talks by the instructors and interactive discussion with case-based learning.
