Hands-On Training on Inspection of Equipment for Nuclear Security at Facilities Using Nuclear or Other Radioactive Material
Introduction
The IAEA established a Nuclear Security Training and Demonstration Centre (NSTDC) at Seibersdorf. In the area of physical protection of nuclear and other radioactive material and facilities, NSTDC focused on providing hands-on training for States, based on official requests, in support of complex projects that require specialized technical infrastructure and for capacity building of States developing new facilities or expanding facilities using nuclear and other radioactive material.
The Hand-On Training on Inspection of Equipment for Nuclear Security at Facilities Using Nuclear or Other Radioactive Material will assist Member States in building competence in performing inspections of physical protection systems at nuclear facilities using the equipment in NSTDC.
Purpose
The purpose of the event is to enhance the knowledge and understanding of the participants on performing inspections of physical protection systems at nuclear facilities using nuclear or other radioactive material.
Target Audience
Staff from the regulatory bodies, other competent authorities or organizations responsible for performing inspections of physical protection systems at nuclear facilities.
