Second Research Coordination Meeting on Facilitation of Safe and Secure Trade Using Nuclear Detection Technologies

The Coordinated Research Project (CRP) on the Facilitation of Safe and Secure Trade Using Nuclear Detection Technology - Detection of RN and Other Contraband supports Member States in research and development in the enhancement of the use and sustainability of nuclear detection technologies by developing and advancing the methods, techniques, algorithms, software tools, specifications and technical guidance documents used to detect nuclear and other radioactive material out of regulatory control. The Second Research Coordination Meeting (2nd RCM) on Facilitation of Safe and Secure Trade Using Nuclear Detection Technologies will convene in Hanoi in April 2025, bringing together Chief Scientific Investigators and experts in radiation detection systems for nuclear security at country borders. It provides a platform for researchers and technical experts to share their progress in developing improved detection methods, algorithms, and software tools for radiation portal monitors (RPMs). Participants of this CRP are invited to present on their research progress and collaborate on innovative approaches to expand the capabilities of existing nuclear detection infrastructure. The collaborative environment will foster knowledge exchange and strengthen the international network of experts working to enhance global trade security through advanced nuclear detection methods.
