European Congress of Medical Physics
After the successful first European Congress of Medical Physics 2016 in Athens, the second European Congress of Medical Physics (ECMP 2018) will be held in Copenhagen.

The ECMP invites a national Medical Physics society to organize three scientific, educational or professional sessions to present facts about Medical Physics in their country and share knowledge and expertise with other European colleagues. This initiative will emphasize the importance of looking beyond national borders, it will broaden horizons and enhance relationship between European Medical Physics societies. 'ECMP welcomes' will be continued and expanded at future congresses. This year ECMP will welcome Germany (DGMP).
In conjunction with the 2nd European Congress of Medical Physics, Summer School on Imaging Modalities in Medical Physics and European School for Medical Physics Experts will be held in August 2018.
Summer School on Imaging Modalities in Medical Physics (20-21 August)
Images in medicine such as computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) play a key role in the today’s diagnosis and treatment of patients worldwide. Further, these major imaging modalities have recently been introduced as 3D-based tools in image guided radiation therapy of cancer patients.
The summer school on Imaging Modalities in Medical Physics, organized in Denmark in August 2018, will cover the basic physical mechanisms behind the CT and MRI modalities and the techniques that transfer the physics into decision making images.
The summer school is intended for professionals and students who work or intends to work in the field of medical physics such as master and PhD students, medical physicists in training, and, persons in health care who need to upgrade their knowledge in this area.

ESMPE European School for Medical Physics Experts (IMRT & VMAT planning in practice) (22 August)
The school will be aimed at improving the skills in the field of the inverse planning for IMRT and VMAT in daily clinical practice. This one day satellite meeting will be held in conjunction with the 2nd European Congress of Medical Physics and teaching sessions covering the main topics of inverse planning will provide the background for live exercises using clinical cases. The event will be accredited by EBAMP (European Board for Accreditation in Medical Physics) and is intended for practising clinical Medical Physicists who are involved in radiotherapy treatment planning.
