Case presentation:
- Male.
- 3 week old.
- High fever and severely ill when admitted.
- Normal pregnancy. -Blood sample: INcreased PCR, leukocytosis, increased creatinine level.
- US: decrease size of the left kidney.
Teaching points:
- The LK dysplasia has been missed by the routine prenatal US, performed in this case by the gynaecologist.
- It is advisable that a specialized radiologist perform the 20 weeks US during pregnancy.
- DMSA detects tubular dysfunction.
- Transitory renal impairment can be due to bilateral neonatal APN .
