IAEA Coordination Activities on Disused Sealed Radioactive Source Removal

This event will present the ongoing IAEA coordination activities on disused sealed radioactive source (DSRS) management, including:

• Source removal;
• The conditioning and storage of DSRSs;
• The Global Radium-226 Management Initiative; and
• Recent publications, such as Management of Disused Radioactive Lightning Conductors and Their Associated Radioactive Sources and soon to be published Management of Disused Ionization Chamber Smoke Detectors and Their Associated Disused Sealed Radioactive Sources.
