Implementation of SIT for Suppression and Eradication of Medfly in Turkey

To assist capacity building in protecting the human and environmental health from pollution caused by the indiscriminate use of insecticides against pests of great economic impact in Turkey. This capacity is oriented to the use of proved and environmentally friendly technologies of pest control, to generate the optimal phytosanitary conditions in fruit production zones. The objective is to maintain and increase international markets for the affected Turkish high quality fresh fruits, to achieve better revenues to the fruit growers,the fresh fruit industry and to the country economy.
