Description

The proposed CRP will involve on-line monitoring of instrument output signals and assessing instrument calibration, to change from time based instrument calibrations to condition based calibrations

Objectives

To encourage cooperation and foster exchange of information in the area of condition based instrument calibration instead of time based calibration

Specific objectives

To develop methods, tools (computer programs) and licensing proposals for implementing a condition based calibrations program for research reactors

Impact

It is expected that the results of this CRP will lead to more widespread use of On Line Monitoring (OLM) in research reactor facilities.

Relevance

This CRP directly supports the overall objectives of the Project 1.4.2.4 (Research Reactors operation and maintenance) and Project 1.4.2.1 (Enhancement of utilization and applications of Research Reactors), by collecting and sharing relevant information; as well as Project 3.2.5.1 (Enhancing the safety of research reactors), through promotion of the use of the research results in safety analysis.
