IAEA Teams Assist Japan in Monitoring Radiation from Fukushima

Shortly after the earthquake and tsunami in Japan triggered the nuclear accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, the IAEA dispatched teams of radiation monitoring experts to assist the Japanese authorities. Rodolfo Cruz Suarez, an IAEA operational radiation protection specialist with the Radiation Safety and Monitoring Section, recently spent two weeks in Japan and carried out monitoring activities in Fukushima and other areas affected by the nuclear accident.
