This year, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) held its 67th annual General Conference (GC67) at its Vienna headquarters from 25 to 29 September. The week-long event drew more than 2 550 Member State representatives from 150 countries, in addition to 242 representatives from international organizations and NGOs, to engage in discussion, contribute to expert presentations and to learn more about the IAEA’s broad portfolio of activities and initiatives.

Nuclear science and technology play an important role in addressing issues in low-carbon energy demand, human health, food security and environmental pollution, and contribute to socioeconomic development around the world.

The IAEA works to foster greater interest in these technologies among youth, including in Asia and the Pacific. Student and teacher winners from a Virtual NST Education Competition visited the IAEA in Austria in May 2022 to present their projects and learn hands on about the many uses of nuclear technology.

Nuclear science and technology play an important role in addressing issues in low-carbon energy demand, human health, food security and environmental pollution, and contribute to socioeconomic development around the world.

Радиоактивный материал может оказаться на месте преступления в результате умышленных злонамеренных действий, таких как хищение или незаконный оборот материала. Другой причиной может быть случайное повреждение преступниками оборудования, содержащего радиоактивные источники. В любом случае место преступления, на котором может находиться радиоактивный материал, требует особого внимания. В сотрудничестве с Управлением по ядерному регулированию Армении МАГАТЭ создало инсценированное место преступления с радиоактивным материалом и загрязненными вещественными доказательствами для имитации проведения расследования и сбора улик с соблюдением техники безопасности.
