The IAEA conducted an interview in private with an Iraqi scientist connected to Iraq's former centrifuge programme.

UNMOVIC sought another private interview with an Iraqi biological scientist last evening. He showed up for the appointment alone but did not agree to the mode of interview, as proposed by UNMOVIC. The interview therefore did not proceed.

IAEA Board of Governors to Convene Meeting on North Korea

The IAEA Board of Governors will convene on 12 February 2003 at 15:00. The Board will discuss a report by the IAEA Director General, Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei on the implementation of the NPT safeguards agreement between the Agency and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

At the conclusion of a meeting, Dr. ElBaradei will hold a press conference.

Time: 18:00 or at the close of the meeting if the meeting ends after 18:00.

Location: IAEA Headquarters, Vienna International Centre, Wagramer Strasse 5, 1400 Vienna, in the Rotunda.
