The ocean plays a key role in regulating climate, supporting biodiversity, providing resources and sustaining life on Earth. Evolving climate conditions are causing significant changes in the ocean that can have detrimental effects on these essential processes. This event aims to raise awareness of the vital importance of preserving the health of the ocean and to highlight how the new IAEA-KISR Ocean Health project will contribute to this global effort through innovative research and capacity building among IAEA Member States. Following the event, a high-level guided tour and a reception will be hosted onboard the research vessel AlMostakshif.
