Regional training centres

The IAEA’s network of regional training centres assists Member States in building competence in radiation, transport and waste safety. The centres play an important role in the implementation of the Agency’s Strategic Approach to Education and Training in Radiation, Transport and Waste Safety, 2011-2020.

The IAEA’s regional training centres support in developing competence in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe and Latin America. Together with the IAEA, they:

The centres also promote and expand regional education and training networks, organize fellowship programmes and regional workshops and prepare and translate educational materials.

Member States that want to establish a regional training centre should request an Education and Training Appraisal (EduTA) mission. The mission results will determine whether the IAEA and the State can sign an agreement for a centre.
