Safety assessment education and training

The Safety Assessment Section  provides capability building activities to address the education and training needs of the Member States in safety assessment and design safety. Specific training courses can be requested by Member States.

The training courses are based on the IAEA’s safety standards, in particular the General Safety Requirements Safety Assessment for Facilities and Activities and the Specific Safety Requirements Safety of Nuclear Plants: Design, and the supporting safety guides, as well as on lessons learned and international practices and expertise.

Here are some of our latest webinars on the safety of evolutionary and innovative reactors:

Applicability of IAEA Safety Standards to the Safe Operation and Regulation of Evolutionary and Innovative Reactor Designs including SMRs

Application of a Graded Approach for SMRs Site Evaluation

Safety, Security and Safeguards Interfaces and Challenges for Novel Advanced Reactors

IAEA Applicability of IAEA Safety Standards to the Design of Novel Advanced Reactors including SMRs
