Senior representatives of the Member States of the IAEA are meeting this week in Vienna, Austria, for the Agency's 60th General Conference. At the opening session of this five-day annual event, IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano delivered a statement. He highlighted the Agency's most important achievements spanning its six decade history and stressed the importance of nuclear science and technology. He also included an update on the verification in Iran.
