Report on Fukushima Daiichi Accident to Be Discussed on Sidelines of the IAEA General Conference

The recently published IAEA Director General’s Report on the Fukushima Daiichi Accident, along with five technical volumes by international experts, will be presented and discussed during an event held on the sidelines of the IAEA General Conference.

The report assesses the causes and consequences of the 11 March 2011 accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Japan, triggered by a tsunami that followed a massive earthquake.

IAEA Hosts International Conference to Promote Women in Nuclear Science

The International Atomic Energy Agency will host the 23rd Women in Nuclear Global Annual Conference: Women in Nuclear Meet Atoms for Peace from 24 to 28 August 2015.The Conference, organised in cooperation with the Agency, will take place at the IAEA’s Vienna headquarters and is expected to bring together more than 450 participants from about 100 countries and international organizations. Panels will feature high-level speakers from the IAEA as well as representatives of national governments, regulatory bodies, research centres, non-governmental organizations, and the nuclear industry.

IAEA Director General to address Journalists following Agreements with Iran

Vienna, Austria - IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano will give a news conference today on the International Atomic Energy Agency’s work following an agreement signed today by Iran and the IAEA on a Road-map for the Clarification of Past and Present Outstanding Issues regarding Iran's Nuclear Programme and a separate agreement between Iran and the E3+3 group of countries.
