Databases The Library provides access to more than 50 databases. Librarians are available to assist users with their research. The data received from the service is to be used only by IAEA Library users and for official purposes. Academic Search Complete
Academic Search Complete is the world's most valuable and comprehensive scholarly, multi-disciplinary full-text database, with more than 8,500 full-text periodicals, including more than 7,300 peer-reviewed journals. In addition to full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 12,500 journals and a total of more than 13,200 publications including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc. The database features PDF content going back as far as 1887, with the majority of full text titles in native (searchable) PDF format. Searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,400 journals.

Energy Citations Database (1948-present)
Bibliographic records in disciplines such as chemistry, physics, materials, environmental science, geology, engineering, mathematics, climatology, oceanography, computer science and related disciplines. Includes also citations to report literature, conference papers, journal articles, books, dissertations, and patents.

Europe's Network of Patent Databases, Esp@cenet, is a free service provided by the European Patent Organisation through the national offices of its member states. It can be used for searching all the patent applications published in the past two years (or more in some cases) by any national office in the EPO.

More than 3,350,000 bibliographic records and over 106,000 full text documents on the environmental impact of energy production and use, including climate change; energy R&D; energy policy; nuclear, coal, hydrocarbon and renewable energy technologies. Since August 2003, ETDEWEB includes historical information from ETDE's Energy Database, which began in 1987, as well as historical information back to 1974 from US DOE/OSTI's Energy Citations database.

EUR-Lex provides direct free access to European Union law. The system makes it possible to consult the Official Journal of the European Union and it includes inter alia the treaties, legislation, case-law and legislative proposals.

Factiva provides current news from more than 9,000 other sources in 22 languages from 152 countries around the world.

A joint project of the International Relations and Security Network (ISN) and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). It covers areas in the field of international relations and security.

High Energy Physics (HEP) Database
The SPIRES-HEP database has been run by the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) since the late 1960's as a database of particle physics literature.

Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals (1985-present)
Index to articles and book reviews appearing in approximately 492 legal journals published worldwide (public and private international law, comparative and foreign law, and the law of all jurisdictions other than the United States, the UK, Canada and Australia).

INSPEC (1969-present)
Produced by the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE), the INSPEC database contains abstracts and index citations for articles from more than 3,400 and 2,000 conference proceedings (includes all fields of physics, electrical engineering and electronics, computing and information technology, materials science, nuclear engineering, geophysics, and biomedical engineering).

International Nuclear Information System (INIS)
INIS provides an online bibliographic retrieval service to over 3.5 million references to commercial journals, grey/non-conventional literature and Internet web documents relevant to nuclear science and technology. INIS is operated by the IAEA in collaboration with its Member States and co-operating international organizations.

IOP Online
Access the full-text articles of 33 journals in the field of physics and related subjects published by the Institute of Physics. Browse by title or search across all journals. Coverage: 1993 to present.

Access to resources in four subjects is available through Knovel database: Electrical & Power Engineering, Mechanics & Mechanical Engineering, Safety & Industrial Hygiene, and Sustainable Energy & Development.  

Nuclear Data Services Databases (NEA)
The Nuclear Energy Agency offer access the following data banks: Evaluated Data, EXFOR Experimental Data, CINDAR Bibliographic Data, ENSDF and NUDAT Nuclear Structure Data, and NSR Bibliographic Data.

Nuclear Science Abstracts (NSA)
NSA is a comprehensive collection of international nuclear science and technology literature for the period 1948 through 1976, predating the INIS database. NSA includes citations to scientific and technical reports from the AEC, the U.S. Energy Research and Development Administration plus other agencies and international organizations.

NucNet's news database (1991-present)
Contains all articles published by NucNet - the world's nuclear network with news from some 400 information suppliers at nuclear plant sites, utilities, fuel cycle companies, regulatory bodies, government ministries, research centres, etc.

ODS (United Nations Official Documents System)
The United Nations Official Documents System (ODS) covers all types of official United Nations documentation, beginning in 1993. Older UN documents are, however, added to the system on a daily basis. ODS also provides access to the resolutions of the General Assembly, Security Council, Economic and Social Council and the Trusteeship Council from 1946 onwards.

OECD iLibrary
The OECD's Online Library of books, periodicals and statistical databases provides access to the full-text of publications and reports from the International Energy Agency (IEA), Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) published from 1998 onwards.

Patent Full-Text and Full-Page Image Databases
A searchable database of issued U.S. patents from the United States Patent and Trademark Office: full-text since 1976, full-page images since 1790; patent applications published since March 2001.

Policies and Measures Databases (International Energy Agency)
Policies and Measures Databases (IEA) offer access to information on energy-related policies and measures taken or planned to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve energy efficiency and support renewable energy development and deployment.

The American Physical Society's Physical Review Online Archive. The complete archive consists of the Physical Review Series I, II, and III, Physical Review Letters and all of Reviews of Modern Physics. The majority of the collection consists of scanned images of the printed journals available as either GIF images or as PDF files.

ProQuest Online Information and Learning Service
A collection of databases which provides access to more than 8,000 publications,  many updated daily and containing full-text articles from 1986. The collection includes journals, newswires and international newspapers within a wide range of subjects, such as: applied science, technology, banking, industry, business, management, computing, education, general science, medical science, social science, telecommunications, news and current events.

Science Accelerator
Science Accelerator is a gateway to science, including R&D results, project descriptions, accomplishments, and more, via resources from the Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI), U.S. Department of Energy. The Science Accelerator can be used to search: electronic full-text research reports (including DOE scientific and technical information), energy citations (millions of them, going back to the Manhattan Project era), green energy research results, wonderful DOE accomplishments in science, collections of DOE non-text data, multimedia videos about DOE and other science research, e-prints (journal article pre-publication drafts, scholarly papers, and more), and proceedings and papers from science conferences.

ScienceDirect Online Service
ScienceDirect offers more than a quarter of the world's scientific, medical and technical information online. Browse or search over 2,000 peer-reviewed journals back from volume 1, issue 1 and access about 400 full-text journals published from 1995 onwards. The service also contains the Encyclopedia of Analytical Science, the Encyclopedia of Atmospheric Sciences and the Encyclopedia of Energy. Register for personalization and alerting services.

Scirus is a comprehensive science specific search engine available on the Internet or via ScienceDirect. It covers more than 85 million science-related pages and can pinpoint precise scientific information that other search engines can not reach, including pdf files and peer reviewed articles.

SciTech Connect
Contains full-text/imaged titles on DOE research and development reports in physics, chemistry, materials, biology, environmental sciences, energy technologies, engineering, computer and information science, renewable energy, and other topics. SciTech Connect provides access to all the information available via Energy Citations Database (ECD) and the Information Bridge (IB).

The Economist Intelligence Unit
Provides access to the EIU database of global intelligence and forecasts on more than 200 countries. Navigate by country or region or among the services which include country profile, country report, country forecast, country monitor, risk briefing, or viewswire. The service also includes access to the Economist.

Ei Compendex
A comprehensive interdisciplinary engineering database, with over 9.5 million summaries of journal articles, technical reports, and conference papers and proceedings.

Ulrich's Periodicals Directory
is a bibliographic database providing detailed, comprehensive, and authoritative information on over 271,000 periodicals and serials from 80,000 publishers in over 200 countries. Annuals, continuations, and conference proceedings are included, as well as academic/scholarly publications, trade publications, consumer magazines, newsletters and bulletins.

UN Bibliographic Information System is the primary index to United Nations documentation published since 1979. Includes UN publications and documentation indexed by the United Nations Dag Hammarskj�ld Library and the Library of the UN Office at Geneva, and non-UN publications held in the collection of the Dag Hammarskj�ld Library plus voting records and index to speeches. Contains some links to full text.

The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) launched a new internet based data service for the global user community. It brings UN statistical databases within easy reach of users through a single entry point. Users can now search and download a variety of statistical resources of the UN system.

UN-I-QUE: United Nations Info Quest
UN-I-QUE (UN Info Quest), a ready-reference file created by the Dag Hammarskjold Library to respond to frequently asked questions, is designed to provide quick access to document symbols/sales numbers for UN materials (1946 onwards).

UNTS (United Nations Treaty Collection)
A collection of all multilateral treaties deposited with the Secretary-General of the United Nations and those formerly deposited with the League of Nations - their latest status and a link to the full texts; Bilateral and multilateral treaties registered with and published by the United Nations Secretariat in accordance with Article 102 up to a certain date - Detailed treaty references and full texts in all authentic language(s). Recently Deposited Multilateral Treaties that have been deposited but not yet published - available for viewing and downloading in some or all of their authentic languages.
