IAEA Programme of Scientific Meetings for 1997

1997/01

Nine scientific conferences and symposia will be convened by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in 1997.

Conferences and Symposia:

  1. Symposium on Diagnosis and Control of Livestock Diseases Using Nuclear and Related Techniques: Towards Disease Control in the 21st Century, Vienna, Austria, 7-11 April
  2. International Symposium on Isotope Techniques in Studying Past and Current Environmental Changes in the Hydrosphere and the Atmosphere, Vienna, Austria, 14-18 April
  3. Symposium on Desalination of Seawater with Nuclear Energy, Taejon, Rep.of Korea, 26-30 May
  4. Symposium on Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Reactor Strategies - Adjusting to New Realities,Vienna, Austria, 2-6 June
  5. Symposium on Radiation Technology in Conservation of the Environment, Zakopane, Poland, 8-12 September
  6. Symposium on International Safeguards, Vienna, Austria, 13-17 October
  7. International Conference on Physical Protection of Nuclear Materials: Experience in Regulation, Implementation and Operation, Vienna, Austria, 10-14 November
  8. Symposium on Upgrading the Fire Safety of Operating Nuclear Power Plants, Vienna, Austria17-21 November
  9. International Conference on the Health Effects Attributable to Low Radiation Doses, Seville, Spain, 17-21 November

In addition, there will be two scientific seminars:

  1. Seminar on Current Status of Radiotherapy in the World, New York, USA, 17-19 April
  2. Regional Seminar on Nuclear Techniques for Optimizing the Use of Nutrients and Water for Maximizing Plant Productivity and Environmental Preservation, Piracicaba,Brazil, 27-31 October

Participants are designated either by the Government of a Member State of the IAEA or the co-sponsoring organization, or by an international organization invited to participate. If individuals wish to attend, they are admitted only as observers. All meetings are open to the press.

The IAEA will publish the proceedings of the conferences and symposia as soon as possible. Requests for publications should be sent directly to the Division of Publications, IAEA, Vienna, or can be obtained from the designated sales agents in Member States (list available on request).
