The IAEA Will Support Presenters at October’s World Cancer Congress in Muscat, Oman

20-22 October 2020

The World Cancer Congress (WCC) is an internationally recognised conference which encourages the effective sharing of knowledge and best practices amongst over 3,500 cancer control and public health experts from 130 countries.

This initiative was established by the Union for International Cancer Control and aims to strengthen action and impact against the disease on national, regional and international scales through a multidisciplinary programme that features the latest successful interventions in cancer surveillance, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care.

The Congress is an opportunity to present the work of the IAEA’s technical cooperation programme on cancer related projects with its Member States to a worldwide audience of experts and public health practitioners.

The IAEA invites project counterparts to share their experiences and good practices at the Congress, and will, through its technical cooperation programme, finance participation for a limited number of participants who meet the following criteria:

  • You are a representative of a national government entity in an IAEA Member State,
  • Have submitted an abstract to the following WCC link by 8 May 2020, and had it accepted by the Congress,
  • The abstract is on a topic in line with a recent or ongoing IAEA Technical Cooperation project, imPACT Review, or development of a National Cancer Control Plan, and documents related national achievements.
  • Your nomination should be endorsed by your IAEA National Liaison Officer and submitted through the applications section of IAEA’s InTouch+ platform.

Please note: the Event Number for your InTouch+ application will be communicated through the WCC Congress website in due course.

You should attach the abstract and the confirmation of your acceptance to the application.

Deadline for applications for IAEA financial support is 8th June 2020.
