World Book and Copyright Day — Nuclear Information at Your Fingertips

25 April 2017 - World Book and Copyright Day — Nuclear Information at Your Fingertips was hosted on 20 April at the VIC by the IAEA Library in collaboration with the Archives and Records Management Section and the Publishing Section of the IAEA, along with the libraries of CTBTO, UNOV and UNCITRAL, and the Corporate Communications and Media Relations Division of UNIDO.

The event provided a great opportunity for INIS outreach and promotion. INIS staff participated with demonstrations on using its digital repository, provided information on its products and services and more.

Opening remarks were given by Mr Wei Huang, Director of the Division of Planning, Information and Knowledge Management, Department of Nuclear Energy and Mrs Yvonne Gimpel, Deputy Secretary General of the Austrian Commission for UNESCO and Head of Austrian Focal Point for the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.

In 1995, UNESCO proclaimed 23 April World Book and Copyright Day, a symbolic date for literature, where tribute is paid to books and reading around the world. This year’s theme was Nuclear Information at Your Fingertips.
