Childhood Cancer International (CCI)

The IAEA and Childhood Cancer International (CCI) cooperate on paediatric cancer, to better help low and middle-income countries in increasing access to early detection and treatment of paediatric cancer. The CCI is the largest patient support organization for childhood cancer.

It brings together 171 organizations in 88 countries, representing parents and young cancer survivors. It implements projects in several countries, to address the health care needs of children under treatment, train fellows in paediatric oncology, build sustainably run facilities and establish parent support groups.

Collaboration between the IAEA and CCI is governed by a Practical Arrangement, signed by both organizations on 4 June 2018. The two organizations work together to provide specialized training for professionals working in paediatrics cancer, increase awareness, and mobilize resources to benefit children with cancer in IAEA Member States.
