IFMIF–DONES: The Present and Future of Fusion Energy Strategy
The construction phase of the International Fusion Materials Irradiation Facility–DEMO Oriented Neutron Source (IFMIF–DONES) facility has now begun in Spain. This event will present the status of the project as an international scientific cooperation initiative, open to public and private sector research communities worldwide. This event is organized by Spain.
This event will be held on Tuesday, 26 September 2023, from 12.00 noon to 1.30 p.m. in Conference Room M7, M Building, ground floor.
This event, organized by the United Kingdom, will highlight how fusion has the potential to provide a low-carbon, safe, continuous and sustainable source of energy that could, in the long term, contribute to ongoing efforts to decarbonize global energy production. It will cover recent developments in fusion science and technology, coupled with advanced manufacturing and computing capabilities. There will also be discussions on the need to globally harmonize an appropriate and proportionate regulatory approach that can maintain public and environmental protection, provide public assurance and support the growth of this low-carbon energy industry. This event is organized by United Kingdom.
This event will be held on Tuesday, 26 September 2023, from 3.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. in Conference Room M6, M Building, ground floor.
