TM on Tools and Techniques for Effective Nuclear Communication

The next IAEA Technical Meeting on tools and techniques for effective nuclear communication will be held in Okiluoto on 15-17 June 2015. The main purpose of the meeting is to share Finland's experience in stakeholder involvement with other operating and newcomer countries. Finland has developed high standards of transparency and openness for the current and future nuclear power programmes, and has managed to maintain throughout the years a strong local support for nuclear power plants.

TVO, in particular, has engaged in open, objective, and interactive cooperation with its stakeholders, through traditional and innovative channels of communication. Since 2012, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), among other activities, has aimed to increase efforts to engage with stakeholders impacted by, or with an interest in, nuclear power, and has organized annual events open to operating and advanced newcomer countries to share experience and learn from each other in this area.

The deadline for nominations is 20 April 2015.
