"One hundred years from now it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like. But the world may be a little better because I was important in the life of a child."
- Forest E. Witcraft

  The Charity Review Committee
The UNWG 2nd Vice President nominates members of the UNWG from different geographic regions to join the Charity Review Committee. The nominations are approved by the UNWG Board.

The 2nd Vice President chairs the Committee and forms regional teams to accomplish the task of selecting projects to be funded.

The Charity Review Committee reviews all project proposals received, selects
those that meet the criteria and are appropriate for UNWG support. Based on available funds, the final list of projects to be funded is submitted to the UNWG Board and General Membership for approval. The Charity Review Committee also maintains communication with approved charities to ensure successful implementation of the projects.

Project Review Cycle

UNWG members are encouraged to identify and refer children's projects to the Charity Review Committee.
• The organization responsible for the project submits the project proposal using the UNWG application form.
• The Charity Review Committee undertakes an initial screening and identifies information gaps in the application. Additional information is requested as necessary.
• The Charity Review Committee conducts a thorough review and completes a comprehensive Assessment Form for each project application. They recommend the projects to be selected for funding.

• The 2nd Vice President prepares the final list of projects based on funds available and the recommendations of the Committee. The proposed list of projects is approved by the UNWG Board, published in the UNWG Newsletter and voted on by the UNWG General Membership.

• All applicants are informed of the funding status and selection. The UNWG hosts an Award Ceremony and the recipient organisations or their representatives are provided with a letter of award. Guidelines for reporting to the UNWG on the project's implementation are also provided.
• Once the projects are approved for funding, applicants are requested to confirm the banking information: funds are subsequently transferred to these organizations.
• On completion of the project, the implementing organization is expected to submit to the UNWG:

- A project completion report.
- Financial accounting of project expenditures from UNWG funds.

  • If necessary, a follow-up of the project is done by the Charity Review Committee as in the case of non-submission of completion report.
