38th Annual International Bazaar Saturday, 2 December 2006 Austria Center Vienna
Thanks to the tremendous success of the 2006 Bazaar and to UNWG fundraising efforts through the year, including the Kiosk, White Elephant and Books, more than €250,000 was raised for children’s charities around the world.  Mozart Bus at the Bazaar The 38th Bazaar coincided with a year celebrating Mozart’s 300th anniversary. Wiener Mozartjahr Organisation provided the UNWG with a superb concert and a visit from the Mozart Bus introducing children to various instruments, renewing Mozart’s hope of creativity and coming together of cultures.   Indonesian Dancers In additional to the international entertainment presented by many participating nations, the Bazaar also offered lively musical performances from the Children’s Choir of Alte Donau Volkschule, the Bläserphilharmonie Wien under the direction of Michael Richter, as well as a vocal performance by tenor Michael Spyres accompanied on the piano by Jimmy Chiang. A new feature of Bazaar 2006 was an auction conducted by the professional auctioneers of Dorotheum Auction House.  Many international and Austrian businesses and individuals donated goods and services for the Auction and the Tombola.  The Grand prize for the Tombola was the European Car of the Year, a Clio, donated by Renault Austria.  It was won by a Syrian gentleman celebrating his birthday! Argentinean Restaurant Stall The Bazaar was made possible particularly by the hundreds of volunteers, UNWG members as well as students from several schools and volunteers from many organizations in Vienna. On behalf of the children who benefit from the UNWG charity programmes, we thank all individuals and organizations that supported the UNWG 38th Bazaar of 2006.  We value your contribution and hope you will join our efforts again in future UNWG bazaars.
