INTRODUCTION


In an effective residue control programme three distinct responsibilities need to be co-ordinated and managed in a close partnership between Analytical Chemists, Veterinarians and Regulatory Administrators:


1. Planning the programme,
2. Determining the identity and quantity of the residues,
3. Judging whether the level is in compliance with the regulations and deciding if enforcement action should be taken.
