Notes:
Trace level analysis for residues control is an extremely challenging task, requiring methods that are capable of detecting to the part per billion range in complex matrices such as liver and kidney. Sample preparation is critical to ensure that residues are purified from the sample without excessive losses through the extraction process and to enable both quantitative data and qualitative data to be generated. An extensive array of analytical methods are employed to achieve this task. These are outlined in the next slide.
