Overview of Status

Current Status as of 21 May 2014

Of the 12 Non-Nuclear-Weapon States (NNWS) party to the NPT that have not yet brought into force a comprehensive safeguards agreement with the IAEA. (View latest Status Report). (Member States are in bold):

  • There are 6 NNWS with which such agreements have been signed but are not yet in force: 

    Benin
    Cape Verde
    Djibouti
    Guinea
    Guinea Bissau
    Timor-Leste
     

  • There is 1 NNWS for which such agreements have been approved by the Board of Governors but have not yet been signed: 

    Equatorial Guinea 
     

  • There are 5 NNWS that have not yet submitted comprehensive safeguards agreements to the Board of Governors for its consideration: 

    Eritrea
    Liberia
    Micronesia
    São Tomé & Principe
    Somalia
