Donald Metzler is a project/technical manager
at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Grand Junction Office, Grand Junction
Colorado. He is the project manager of the UMTRA Ground Water Project.
He has worked on UMTRA for early 12 years. His work with uranium mill tailings
has involved characterization, disposal cell cover performance, compliance
strategy development, remedial action, and project management. He has published
over a dozen technical papers on these subjects. In the past, he served
as chairman to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Advisory Group Meeting
on developing the Planning and Management Options for Cleanup of Contaminated
Groundwater, in Vienna, Austria. Donald has extensively participated with
technical managers from the foreign countries addressing the remediation
of uranium mill tailings and contaminated ground water.
Donald hold degrees in agricultural science from California Polytechnic
State University, San Luis Obispo, California and hydrogeology from San
Diego State University, San Diego, California. He is a registered geologist
in California and Arizona, and a certified professional hydrogeologist
with the American Institute of Hydrology.
Prior to his working for the US DOE he has worked for Woodward-Clyde
Consultants and Anaconda mining. |
